Mandrel Bending This type of bending produces a round smooth wrinkle free bend. It uses a mandrel to support the inside of the tube as it is being drawn around a bend die. This type of bend is commonly known as a rotary draw bend.
Compression Bending This type of bend can produce a smooth wrinkle free bend also, but is best suited for applications where the diameter of the tube in the bend is not as critical. A common example of a compression bend is in the automotive exhaust arena. The depth, distance and amount of wrinkles are controlled by the male portion of the tool. This type of bend is sometimes called a crush bend.
Roll Form Bending We can roll form diameters up to 2". Roll forming lets us bend tubing down to a radius 4 times the diameter of the tubing. This type of bend requires no mandrel and the process allows for an infinite amount of radii on the same tools. This process is best suited for large sweeping arcs and large diameter circles out of various sizes of tubing.
